i found the ice cream cake ress on allrecipes.com; no idea where it originated from. i think the reuben spread one is from a "taste of home" cookbook, which are all reader-submitted recipes, so you could be right on the money with that crowley guy. i'm going to look him up, although i strongly suspect that he died before age fifty from coronary artery disease . and mmmm, onion dip
