He has no "Green Card"

A policeman walks over to me as I videotape.

"You find this entertaining?"

"I’m just doing my job."

"Let me see some ID."

I leave my camera running as I rifle through my wallet.

I show him my LA Press Club card.

He notes it is out of date. He wants something up to date.

"That’s all I have," I say.

"You don’t have a current press pass," he says.

I get the video I want and walk home.

Aparently luke can't afford the 30-80 bucks for the membership to the LA Press Club or can't meet their requirments.

The Los Angeles Press Club is proud to offer its members a Press ID Card, so that journalists - including freelancers - can identify themselves as members of the working press. The ID Card is for working journalists only. An application for a Press ID Card must include five clips from the past 12 months and a letter signed by at least one editor of a media outlet. First-time applicants must submit the application in person to take a picture and sign the ID Card. Members of the foreign media must provide proof of a journalist working visa or a green card. The ID Card costs $29 for members and $79 for non-members. For more information, e-mail Diana.
