It's intended for the general audience, of course, but not at any specific client she may have in the hotel room that evening. Therefore, she is not taking it out on the john.

Going back to the restaurant metaphor: I've seen web pages and even hard-bound books hectoring the unenlightened and unwashed on the finer points of dining out. These are written, of course, by professional wait staff and addressed to the body public, not to the yahoo at table six.

As long as the server, be it waitress or whore, isn't taking it out on the customer in front of them, I don't see why she shouldn't be able to spout off on her down time.
