Did he bring partners into the business because he lacked sufficient starting capital? The $100K or so he claims was invested in start-up is pretty small for someone who claims to be a multi-millionare. A multi-millionare would have access to credit in excess of the start-up costs and could even put it on a black card if they wanted to go for maximum rewards points. Would a Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, or even a Morimoto need to raise additional capital if they were investing under $200K? I think not.

Or, did Nicky bring partners into the business because he lacked expertise in running the business and wasn't sure and, given his limited knowledge, wanted to hedge his bet? Most of the big-time investors you mentioned would not even bother attempting to run a business. They'd HIRE the best talent they could find, not enter into a partnership.
