San Diego - The American Red Cross asks eligible blood donors in central San Diego to make an appointment to donate blood. The fires caused the cancellation of all Red Cross blood drives in San Diego County today (10/23) and tomorrow (10/24) , resulting in a loss of nearly 200 units of blood. Blood is needed for hospital patients throughout San Diego County, including those who have suffered burns in the fires.

The American Red Cross asks eligible blood donors in Los Angeles and Orange Counties to make an appointment to donate blood by calling 1.800.GIVE.LIFE.
