Here's an alternate theory: Haley died of an overdose and Chico drank himself to death in guilt and remorse over his role in her demise. Possibly criminal role, that remains to be seen. Nowhere does it say the police were imminently going to arrest him. He was questioned and released at the time of her passing about a month before his own.
