Mean Gene writes: Porn Valley- According to whomever you talked to, Eon McKai made a beeline resembling a 100 yard dash out of the KSEX building Monday night.
And it wasn't to catch a bus or the last two minutes of the Dallas Cowboys game, either. Fuck Soup co-host Jason Sinclair had already phoned in sick earlier. But program director Lorrainiac called him out on the air, suspecting it was the football game that prompted Sinclair's flu.
"Fuck Jason for staying home and lying," announced Lorrainiac at the tail end of the Fuck Soup show being hosted by Peter Warren and Carly Parker on which McKai was a guest.
In McKai's case, McKai, an Elvis Costello lookalike, took off like a pig in a pork chop factory when asked to fill out 2257 forms. Whether McKai said it or not, the way the story was conveyed the next day is that McKai claimed that by being a director he's not required to fill out 2257's. But that doesn't explain his Band on the Run impersonation.McKai was on KSEX to promote the alt version of Debbie Does Dallas. McKai, earlier, re-made another porn classic New Wave Hookers. And the Debbie alt cast includes Mercedes and Monique Alexander, performers you wouldn't generally associate with alt. According to McKai, Cassidey has the "alt vibe."
While in Alexander's case, McKai said it was for "political reasons."
"Monique is a really good actress but it was important that we put her in it," said McKai, noting that the script was adjusted to accommodate her appearance.
"So that she would fit in that world." Besides, said McKai, comparing it to an episode of Scooby Do, "It's not the type of movie you take too seriously."
Nevertheless, McKai said the crowd this movie would appeal to were the freaks, geeks, faggots and trannies.
Parker who had run a bit late herself, announced on the air that Eva Angelina won an award at the NightMoves show and had text messaged her about it.
As for himself, McKai said he had been to San Francisco over the weekend where apparently there had been a conference of sex nerds at kink.com.
"It was about the future of jerking off, using technology," McKai said. Along those lines, Warren said there's now a vibrator on the market which is run by an iPod.
"It goes to the beat of whatever music you're listening to."
As he does every week, Warren plays clips from porn films of the Seventies. This one was Angel Buns starring Veronica Hart. McKai said that Hart was his porn mother.
"She taught me how to act in this business."
In which case, Hart must have been cheering McKai proudly at the finish line after his race.
Asked why he was re-making yet another classic, McKai replied, "It's a sales thing."
McKai wondered if another Pirates movie was being made as well. Warren said it was as they speak.
On his behalf, McKai said he was going for respect and integrity with his projects and felt that by appealing to the alt crowd, he was serving an audience that wasn't being served.
He and Parker also had an exchange about bisexual porn, and Parker, who's done one, said the adult industry gets pretty hypocritical on that subject. McKai said he gets e-mails from female fans whose boyfriends are bi.
