kinda cool... though another way of selling punks soul.. though it would be good for some of these kids to hear some REAL punk and see what it was really about..
that being said :gag: at earth crisis, Sunny Day and Blink 182 being on there...
should have traded one of them out for Crisis.

a lil G.G. Allin for fun's sake even... toss in the Mentors for sheer offensiveness. or... how about some fucking pistols or P.I.L., gotta represent Johnny in there somewhere, especially since he's on the cover....
at least we were spared Fugazi.

my personal favourite story was about Souxisie and the Banshees, though it may be apocryphal.
It went along the lines of when they were first signed and went into the studio the label had given them all brand new instruments... they went to play their songs and it all sounded like shit, because none of them knew how to tune an instrument and all the songs had been written and played on out of tune gear.
Edit- ok i found a kind of minor confirmation from Budgie about the same story.
"Experimental, yes, but not technical. When the band first started, they never knew about concert pitch or tuning. No one even had a tuner. It was, 'Okay, that's an E because it's the bottom string', and everyone tuned to that. We had so many problems later, trying to do some of the early songs live, because they're in different keys. If we're now using tuners as a standard, the very early songs are impossible to play!"

hey, i myself... am not punk. I appreciate and love a lot of punk music, lots of my friends were punk, especially when i was in ARA back in the day... 95% of which were straight edge hardcore kinds and SHARPS, Ive known Douglas from Crisis since I was 15 (but knew him fist for Death In June)... and my mom was a punk magazine writer.
Me, i'm just a fuckin glorified raver.

Probably, but the original lineup and the first two albums were great.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDWPDmsTs4Q
"PiL's elusiveness lent the band a certain mystique, but to those close to PiL's operations, they were known as "the laziest band in the world" -- rehearsing infrequently, rarely gigging (the original band only played five UK shows), and recording only when forced into the studio by record executives. (One such executive called PiL "a well-oiled machine that burns money and generates pot smoke and excuses.") When Jim Walker joined, he started spending time at Lydon's apartment, and noticed that Levene would often call from wherever he lived -- presumably miles away, since he never saw him. One evening, moments after a phone exchange, he was astonished to see Levene walk in the door: he had been living in the flat downstairs the whole time, but had never bothered to come up before."
