It is possible, but it depends on the dynamics of the relationship at hand. I've had many platonic friendships with women. Some of them developed into sexual partnerships, and of those that did some ended badly, some still remain friends in my life. Looking back on the ones I didn't sleep with, now I really wish that I had.
