Not exactly. This is the last film in the 3rd movie series (the "Millennium Series"), which started in 1999 (with Godzilla 2000). Toho also widely reported that this would be the last Godzilla film for at least a decade (because of the weak box office performances of the previous two films).


BTW, the title of the new movie is Gojira: Fainaru Uôzu (Godzilla - Final Wars). The guest monsters will be Gigan, Rodan, Mothra, Kamakuras, Minya (or Minilla), Kumonga, Manda, Ebirah, Anguirus, King Caesar, Hedorah and a new monster, "Monster X".
