I know it's fashionable to bash Wang, but we ought to at least consider the possibility that he might actually have loved her, and that the kidnapping & assault charge could have been the result of an attempted "intervention".

After all, you kidnap someone the moment you deprive them of their liberty, and assault them the moment you use any kind of force to restrain them, both things that would be necessary. So he would technically be guilty of the offences. Even a girl as sweet as Haley might drop a loved one in it when in the last spiral of addiction. An addict deprived of their precious smack is liable to do or say almost anything. And it might take a few days to sort it out with the authorities.

"Hailey had guns under her name. I think Chico got caught with a gun in the car. A felon with a gun is like a year in jail. He doesn’t want to go to jail. He left the country. He wanted to go anyway.

Supposing this was the scenario, if Haley then subsequently ODed in Wang's company, the police would definately be looking at things closely given the previous allegations. This would account for an ongoing investigation. I'm not saying this is what happened. It's pure speculation, but it fits the facts as well as all the talk of murder. So maybe everyone should stop speculating until more info is available.

One question I'd like answered is did anyone actually SEE Haley first-hand after the alleged assault? Can anyone attest that she really had been beaten up?
