This sucks, there was something about this girl I always liked. I can't say I found her to be that hot (as compared to other "Top talent") or her scenes to be all that great. But as I said, there was just something about her that I automatically liked. I always knew there were alot of drugs in Porn but I was shocked to find out it was Heroin. I can't see anyone being stupid enough to fuck with that stuff, the needles... fuck that. Is Heroin popular in the Porn community? I wouldn't think so because of the increase HIV risk but what the fuck do I know

And, really, what reasonable person wouldn't understand if she would have chosen to do that? Life has repeatedly roundhouse kicked her in the crotch, and a person can only take so much. I know it's a bit of a cliche to say, but hopefully she finds the peace in death that she couldn't find in life.

I, for one, would understand completely if she decided to cash in her chips, especially if she was in a remote part of the state, possibly trying to kick the junk. I've never done smack, but I've tried to quit cigarettes a hundred times, so I can only imagine.
If it turns out that Inkyo killed her, though, I have a hard time picturing the sonofabitch offing himself. He strikes me as being too... "selfish" for that. He might have gone to Baja, but more likely he's holed up somewhere debating what to do.

KING CITY, Calif. - Maryam I. Haley, a.k.a. Haley Paige, who appeared in over 300 adult titles between 2002 and 2007, passed away August 21, according to the King City coroner's office. The cause of her death is still under investigation, awaiting the results of a toxicology report.
Haley's body was released to a mortuary August 27. A spokesperson for the coroner's office said it is typical for toxicology reports to take between four and six weeks to be returned following an autopsy.
Rumors of Haley's death began circulating in the adult industry in September. She had by most accounts vanished over the past two months, along with boyfriend Inkyo Volt Hwang, a.k.a. director Chico "Wanker" Wang. Hwang was arrested June 29 for allegedly beating and kidnapping Haley, but was released July 3 with no charges filed.
The coroner's office spokesperson confirmed to AVN that Hwang was interviewed by the King City police several days after her death. Calls to the King City police department were not immediately returned.
As to another circulated rumor that Haley died of a heroin overdose, the spokesperson for the coroner's office said she had no track marks that would indicate such a cause, but it was hypothetically possible if she smoked the substance.
A longtime associate of Hwang's, Hung Lo, spoke to AVN and stressed that Hwang was good to Haley, and did everything he could to get her off of drugs. "That's what he wanted for her," Lo said. "He loved her."

Sigh - oh well. A bad childhood with a spectacularly bad choice of friends is not a recipe for happiness.
I always though she was one of naturally cute girls in porn, one that would look cute even without an hour in the makeup chair, an evening spent in photoshop or Holly struggling to put lipstick on a pig. Not necessarily airbrush/model beautiful but cute.

I know it's fashionable to bash Wang, but we ought to at least consider the possibility that he might actually have loved her, and that the kidnapping & assault charge could have been the result of an attempted "intervention".
After all, you kidnap someone the moment you deprive them of their liberty, and assault them the moment you use any kind of force to restrain them, both things that would be necessary. So he would technically be guilty of the offences. Even a girl as sweet as Haley might drop a loved one in it when in the last spiral of addiction. An addict deprived of their precious smack is liable to do or say almost anything. And it might take a few days to sort it out with the authorities.
On August 30th, Jasmine Tame told Luke the following:

So maybe everyone should stop speculating until more info is available.
One question I'd like answered is did anyone actually SEE Haley first-hand after the alleged assault? Can anyone attest that she really had been beaten up?

Ivor, I have no doubt he loved her in his own twisted way. Most abusers do love their victims. I imagine Wang had a childhood as twisted and as volent as Haley did. Probably wasn't raped, but was most likely physically and emotionally abused by the old man. Along with the rest of the family.
And the coroners have said this was not an OD. Toxicology reports are made on a plethora of possible conditions, not just drugs.

No question, Ivor. All I can say about the initial call to them was that I spoke to the coroner on the case, not a "spokesperson." It might be best described as a hit-and-run conversation that ended abruptly, for reasons I can't disclose. I infer that they may have composed themselves by the time AVN and whomever else called.

Well, I've spent the better part of the day drafting CAPRA requests for records to various agencies, including the LA District Attorney. Let's see what they disclose.
As for the AVN statement, they said it was possible that she smoked it. I've known quite a few junkies in my time and I've never known one of them to smoke smack. To me this says that Wang is lying about the H. And who knows what else.
Be that as it may, I never said that she didn't kill herself. Lots of women are driven to suicide after a lifetime of abuse. And as Random said: Can you blame her?

I know plenty of users who smoke heroin! Black tar on a piece of aluminum foil...However I've never heard of anyone overdosing sans a needle? And intervenes heroin overdoses usually happen after an extended period of sobriety. Which (allegedly) was not the case here?

wow, been watching this since i came across it on my strolls across luke's site... just wow.
Seriously Haley was an awesome girl, and just a sweet girl altogether. shot her a few times and she was an awesome performer and just a joy to shoot... really dont know what else to say other than i am quite saddened by this, kept hoping it was a hoax. Hopefully the truth comes out eventually and we know the facts.

Intentional, suicide or homicide? The cause of heroine overdoses are practically impossible to determine.
Sid and Nancy.
The similarities are pretty eerie in my opinion. Lets not forget that Sid was charged with Nancy's murder and then died from his own OD. Years later some credible evidence surfaced that their smack dealer Rockets Redglare probably killed Nancy Spungen and supplied Sid Vicious with a fatally lethal 99% pure dose of heroin.
When violence and drugs( especially heroin) are involved anything is possible. You have to consider all scenarios;a fatal dose from smoking, snorting, and the possibility that the shot wasn't administered into her arms or legs.
I don't think that authorities involved are going to make finding the truth about Maryam's death a priority so it may never be known. When Fox magazine's(a great wank mag)publisher fleshes out this story while AVN and supposed "Moral" crusader/journalist/blogger Luke Ford sat on their hands and did nothing why would they care about this torrid tail? Also, so many jurisdictions are involved it is a possible bureaucratic log jam.

Interesting. It was the cached page with the shot of the casket that first made me consider the possibility of a cruel hoax. That was the starting point of all this. I figured--if someone had posted shots of a casket--that a funeral had taken place, and possibly an obituary had appeared on the web or in print, or at least news of some kind regarding the incident that caused her death. That's when Jim B. and I started researching (some of the fruits of which appear in the other Haley thread.)

I know plenty of users who smoke heroin! Black tar on a piece of aluminum foil...However I've never heard of anyone overdosing sans a needle? And intervenes heroin overdoses usually happen after an extended period of sobriety. Which (allegedly) was not the case here?
Not true, you can get an extremely strong bag while you've been a true junkie day in and day out, they can give you a hot bag, or they could cut it with something like a posionous substance, you dont have to be clean and then use to die.
Edited to say RIP, she was a beautiful girl who seemed lost in this industry, made very bad decisions in the men she dated and Im really sad to hear this about her, everyone I ever read that interviewed her or knew her had nothing but pleasant things to say about this girl. I feel very sorry for her and its awful that she lived her whole life unhappy. Sad indeed. RIP MYRIAM a/k/a Haley.
No more abuse, no more being taken advantage of, death is easy, its living thats hard and scary.

I hate adding to this already morbid thread, but...(true story mind you) As I was partying in TJ after an MMA fight at some shitty strip club, a friend said...(literally) "Wow, that girl looks just like that porn star Haley Paige but with smaller tits. Do you know her...she's a San Diego native, right?" I promptly informed him Haley's dead, likely OD'd or murdered, and how that guy who likely killed her is dead too. "Whoo, bummer." He responded. Then we started talking about the new season of Heroes and everything was well.
