I doubt any reductive explanation is available. Examples may be the only way: ever seen the sly grin of a pimp? A person's expression and demeanor can reek of many things: avarice, lechery, conceit, connivance, etc. If you don't get it, then you don't get it, Fatman. Not my problem.
