British food used to be the worst in the world, a title it rightfully deserved. But it has changed dramatically. In London it's at least as good as in any other world city (some say now it's even better than in continental Europe, because many good cooks have moved to London where they can make more money). One big problem with London besides the strong pound (1 pound = $2) is the insane cost of real estate. The monthly rent for an average (small) 1 bedroom apartment in South Kensington is $4,500 and up. Want to own? Marry a banker.
