Sadly, the Bond of today's movies is just a comic book caricature of the original Bond. Even the Connery films used the stories as a skeleton to flesh a movie around. Lazenby was lame because he had none of he charisma Bond has and uses as a tool in his spy repetoire. I liked Moore at first, but his latter films were ruined with all those phoney top secret gadgets the Bond of the books never needed. Timothy Dalton was pretty lame and Pierce Brosnan is good although the films are just these junk food action flicks. The fact of the matter is that the best Bond is Ian Fleming's Bond. The the only true Bond.
