Porn Valley- This week, after the announcement of the tragic death of porn star Danny Roddick, the Colt Studio Group has shown their heart and has set up a charity fund to be raised in the fallen star’s name. Proceeds of the sales of DVDs featuring Danny will benefit the New Leaf non-profit organization.
A relative newcomer to the industry, Danny Roddick had made quite a name for himself as a Buckshot exclusive, and was tragically taken before his time. He appeared in just five films before his death and most recently starred in director Jerry Douglas’s feature Brotherhood.
“The loss of anyone so young and talented and especially a sweet and fragile individual is heartbreaking, but for someone who was rapidly approaching the peak of his career it is doubly painful,†said Douglas in a press release.
Proceeds from his videos, HARD Studies, Boot Black Blues, Big Rig, Hostile, and Brotherhood will now go to benefit the New Leaf Organization which is a not for profit counseling center for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities of San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area.
The organization provides services to middle and low-income individuals and families who cannot afford private therapy or support services, and has been doing so for the past three decades.
New Leaf is the only comprehensive mental health, substance abuse, HIV/AIDS and social support organization in San Francisco geared specifically for the LGBT communities.

Roddick, whose real name has not yet been released, began in the industry as a Buckshot exclusive in 2005. In his short career, he made 4 films for the Buckshot line of films, a subsidiary of the COLT Studio Group, and had recently completed work on the new production Brotherhood, directed by award winning legendary director Jerry Douglas.
Named after his resemblance to tennis star Andy Roddick, Danny’s perfect body and inviting smile made him a fan favorite, and he recently served as a trophy boy and presenter at the 2007 Grabby Awards held in Chicago.
In a press release about the tragic death, director Kristofer Weston, who had worked with Roddick on his first film Hard Studies, said: “He was one of the most caring and sensitive people I’ve ever had the privilege of working with on set. A truly beautiful man inside and out and I’m honored to have called him a friend.â€
While no official word has been made about the exact cause of death, industry insiders believe that it may have been caused by an overdose of prescription pills.
“We are devastated and saddened by this tragedy,†said President and Creative Director John Rutherford. “We have watched Danny grow up and everyone here at COLT Studio Group extends our most heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.â€
COLT Studio Group, which is known for its exceptional treatment of performers and for creating a family-like atmosphere for its talent, is in the process of establishing a fund where a portion of sales will be donated to a LGBT nonprofit organization in Danny’s name.
Danny passed away in his home in Sacramento.
