Dear Chub Chub,

I know you were one of the 10 or so people in California and Arizona who miraculously developed an e.coli infection right before you had to fly to a trade show you didn't want to attend.

You're in luck, Chub Chub, there's a brand new e.coli outbreak right on the heels of the next Tampa show. Great timing for you. Except this time it's lettuce, not spinach. And it's concentrated in Quebec, so make sure your bullshit story includes a phantom trip to Montreal to have lunch with Lauren Phoenix or someting.

Here are some of the basics from the AP:

Quote:

SAN FRANCISCO - A division of Dole Food Co. issued an international recall of bagged salad Monday after a sample taken from a store in Canada tested positive for E. coli, the company said.

There have been no reports of illness, company officials said.

The voluntary recall affects all packages of Dole's Hearts Delight salad mix sold in the United States and Canada with a "best if used by" date of September 19, 2007, and a production code of "A24924A" or "A24924B," Dole said.

The product was sold in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritime Provinces in Canada and in Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and neighboring U.S. states starting the weekend before last, said Marty Ordman, a Dole spokesman.

Remember Chub Chub...lettuce...Quebec...and you can get back to your traditional excuse, on the off chance someone wants you to be in their booth. I bet e.coli is a great way to lose weight, too!
