Rape is a serious crime, and falsely accusing someone of rape only aids real rapists who use the existance such tales to seek to discredit real victims. So, shame on the guilty party.

But, just because you know someone, accused or accuser doesn't mean s/he isn't capable of perpetrating a heinous crime. It's not evidence either way.
