GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Gaffney police arrested a man who they said was masturbating in the non-fiction section of the county library.

A woman in the Cherokee County Library on Rutledge Avenue said that she saw the man sitting on the floor between bookshelves with a book on his lap and his hands under the book masturbating. When the man saw her watching him, she said he moved to the paperback section, where she said that he laid down on the floor between the bookshelves and a table where three women were sitting.

Police said they arrested Jerry Morris Poole Jr., of Mount Holly, N.C. He is charged with indecent exposure. Police said Poole is also placed on trespass notice at all Cherokee County libraries.
