Billy's Topless ... I hadn't thought about that place in a quite some time ... I was only in there a couple of times. The last time the girls didn't dance on stage, they just writhed on the stage.

When 60-40 kicked in, Billy's lost its steam. They always had a few dancers who apparently refused to stand up (a couple can still be found at the Pussycat Lounge) but it got more depressing (more than usual) near the end. They were even a bikini bar for a few months. I recall walking in one night at about 10. It was completely empty and the dancers were literally sprawled on the stage. The manager "Black Bobby" (as opposed to bouncer "White Bobby," a drooling behemoth) started shouting and waving his arms for them to get up. Sad. Black Bobby had a massive coronary and died just before the place closed and was turned into a fucking bagel shop.

Never was at Satin Dolls. Years ago I once went to a go-go place called something like the "Naval Base" in Secaucus.

You're not missing anything at Satin Dolls. If the Naval Base is still there, I haven't heard about it in ages. That used to be pretty raunchy, at least by NJ standards.

There's a club here in Weehawken I've never been to in the ~20 years I've lived here. I think it's called something like "Squeeze Lounge" now ...

Hmmm...never heard of that. And I thought I knew Weehawken.
