People who keep "exotic" pets are the worst kind of attention whores. It isn't about loving the pet (how can you love a tarantulla?); it's about being able to say "look at my hardcore pets - aren't I awesome?". I'm only too glad when something like this happens. Get a cat or a dog, losers, and stop trying to define yourself by your pet.
