It's not that easy.

First of all there is this minor problem of property taxes. Secondly, the value of land doesn't always go up when you want to sell. Thirdly there can be a fair amount of "maintenance" even on idle land.

In 1999 I bought a weekend retreat from a guy who was selling then because it was the first time in 15 years he wasn't underwater on his loan. And when I had it appraised in 2005 it was worth exactly what I paid, not one penny more. I pay little property tax since I maintain it as a wildlife refuge but even that costs several thousand dollars a year, plus dealing with tree diseases, fires from neighbors doing (ahem) "controlled" burns, the crazy old man who sometimes shoots deer on my property from over the fence but can't see well enough to distinguish any large mammal such as me from a deer, and an endless procession of entities wanting easements, right-of-ways, etc, etc, etc.

Land is a good way to go since they aren't making any more it but it's not pain-free or a sure thing, and definitely not for short-term investors. Few porn stars fit the profile of a successful land investor...

Porn stars just don't make that much anyway. For a brief period they earn as much as a good engineer with some experience. They do it without spending four years in college and another 5-10 gaining seniority and experience but they also don't get to do it very long. An anal queen who works every single day will do a bit better, until her ass falls out anyway. But the performing years just don't last long enough to get into the "millionaire" status.

And if there are any millionaire porn stars it may not be easy to tell because they'll be among the ones who don't have a nice car, don't live in a fancy apartment/house, don't have nice handbags or shoes, etc... You can't spend your way to riches.
