I haven't posted some of the stories I've kept on for a while, so I thought I'd share some with you all.  § Part of Mary Carey's "celebrity" (and I use that term very loosely, kind of like her vagina) rehab is to do some community service. She suggested that she could go to Iraq shoot some solo porn scenes for the troops to shoot with their iPhones and camcorders. Apparently she directed her letter to "Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld." Isn't that kind of like a death row inmate asking for clemency from Robert F. Kennedy?  § Gen Padova e-mails me! "Hey William. I'm starting a holistic healing center in Van Nuys. I'm going to call it Tropic of Cancer Healing. She appreciated her time in porn (and so did we), but Padover looks forward to life beyond peach wine. We love ya, babe!  § Apparently Playboy (NYSE:PEI) is considering a suit against Jay Grdina and Club Jenna, Inc. because just about no one has lived up to their promises. A banker I know at LaSalle Bank in Chicago says that Christie Hefner is super pissed about Jenna bailing on the endorsement deal, Jay forcing her out and not revealing his criminal past, and the piss-poor assortment of whores he has signed onto the label. Let's just say Jenna won't have that Rolls Royce for long.  § Evil Angel finally agreed to stop shooting transsexual videos. Apparently the availability of trannies in Porn Valley is getting limited, and the social stigma of using Brazillians does not produce enough of a profit for them to maintain the line. Apparently JS & Trish will make a final donation to the Fabio Scorpion Memorial Trust in Rio de Janiero as a parting gesture.  § Porn washout Randi Storm was arrested by the LAPD early in September for soliciting prostution. The police report described her as wearing "black winter boots with a 'skull & crossbones' pattern on them." Sounds familiar to something we've posted on XPT before.  § Luke Ford is writing another book! Luke e-mailed me that he wants to write a semi-fiction called My Friend Shiksa loosely based on his whirlwind affair with our favorite Holly Randall. Apparently it involves a starving Jewish writer who miraculously courts the love of a blonde agnostic girl, and wins her over to Judaism. He never actually marries her or has sex with her, the film winds up with him masturbating over the fact that he converted one more fish to the flock.  § Shelly Lubben is back in the news. She's flying back East to organize an anti-porn rally in the huge porn producing city of Pittsburgh, PA. Guests of honor will include Sierra Sinn, Kami Andrews, and Belladonna. Each guest will host small discussion group on anus maintenance, drug abuse, and STD's. All proceeds will be donated to AIM, who in turn will use them to send Sharon Mitchell to pursue a legitimate college degree from Glendale Community College. Have a great weekend, folks!

I'd be curious to know what promises were broken or what contractual obligations went unfulfilled. If Playboy didn't do their due diligence regarding background checks of the principles involved, that's stupidity on their part; especially considering we're talking about the porn industry.
On the contract performers, it always struck me that CJ was trying to "mold" someone into the next Jenna (it ain't gonna happen) in a changed marketplace that doesn't want a performer like that but what performance clause could hold Jay accountable for picking the next industry darling?
And as far as Jenna's continued endorsement is concerned, given some of her recent pictures and statements, do they really want her at the forefront of their efforts to restore some kind of branding these days? Their establishment of the gonzo lines, in effect chasing the existing market, shows they are looking to find something new that will sell outside of the canned footage of Jenna from years back but whoever is running the company right now sure seems to be shooting in the dark.

A gentile young lady is only a "shiksa" to an Ashkenazi Jew since Sephardic Jews don't speak/use Yiddish at all. I don't know which the ex-Anglo-Saxon Luke claims to be. So let me get this straight anyway ... a shaygetz from Australia converts to Judaism to then chase the forbidden blonde Shiksa Goddess when he could have just dated her with no issues if he had not become Jewish. Did he just covert for the "thrills"?  Why didn't he get a sex change in Brazil and then struggle against society mores and taboos and a bad staff infection to get a civil union?? This plot seems more 2007.

Seeing as Jenna would be the de facto figurehead of the Club Jenna brand, I would be very surprised (but at the same time not shocked) if the contract didn't include some clause regarding her appearance as many of her previous contracts will undoubtedly have done. Dramatic weight loss, removal of implants, additional ill-advised cosmetic surgeries, and that fairly sizeable pair of new tattoos on her back would all probably fall foul of this somewhat...if such a clause exists, of course.

I don't buy the whole 'there will never be a "Next Jenna"' argument, but I should clarify my point and explain that I refer to role/status of Jenna as the mainstream crossover-friendly face of the industry rather than Jenna the performer/unit shifter.
For my money, in recent years only two girls have got close to being it, but ultimately flunked out. Krystal Steal seemed to be being groomed as Jenna's hand-picked successor, and the physical resemblance is certainly there, but ultimately she disappeared up her own arse and that was that...she lost the momentum.
The other one would be Tera Patrick...physically, a complete 180 from Jenna's look, but incredibly good looking all the same and the benificiary of a monster marketing push by Adella and co. over at Digital Playground. Then came Evan Seinfeld, the contract spat and the implants, and hey presto the momentum was gone here too. She's still one of the biggest stars in the biz, but she too was unable to knock Jenna off her perch.
Me, I'm still baffled they let Lela Star get surgery...

Jenna's name is the most known in the world outside porn, but as you say, recent developments will only serve to negate that.

The "value" of CJ, broken down into it's components, is debatable; the back catalog not nearly worth the selling price, Jenna's unwillingness to film new scenes with other men limiting the value, and her recent place in the spotlight reducing the value of unreleased scenes for a number of folks. Whatever contracts CJ possesses (directors and/or performers) can hardly be worth the costs either but I doubt they had what amounts to a "moral clause" given the nature of the company but I imagine there was definitely an appearance provision given how Jenna's name still moves titles (but I'm skeptical as to how many under current circumstances and I'm admittedly a fan).

Jesse Jane and Stormy are the biggest two "contenders" (for lack of a better word) but neither come close, nor are the circumstances favorable these days, to generate as much buzz as Jenna has over the years.

Krystal's meltdown aside, there was clearly an attempt to use the similar look the gal had to best advantage but that only would have worked as a substitute for Jenna, not getting any substantive buzz for her as Krystal. I mentioned her grooming in past reviews (which was acknowledged by some "in the know" as insightful though telling me that there was a lot more BTS to make it happen that few were aware of).

I always found Tera to be attractive but a weak fuck on screen. Her performances are much better these days but her marketing has fallen off too much as Teravision tries to breakaway from relying on her alone as their meal ticket. Like Wicked Pictures was the primary vehicle for getting Jenna her lofty perch in porn, DP (and Adella) did more than all the other companies combined to elevate Tera to her status. She started to gain some recent momentum but her side projects in fashion and such have detracted her focus; the gal/company seemingly trying to be all things to all people and losing out as a result. She still has a lot of untapped potential but...

Some of them are quite good for what they seek to be but they are not what people have come to associate as CJ. The current state of the industry is such that the "evolve or die" attitude pushes incompatible lines on companies like CJ as they chase the industry winners (like Bang Brothers; CJ hiring one of the BB original directors for their Filthy line). With everyone doing it, and doing it cheaper, the marginal rewards seem a bigger risk than simply churning out arty-farty titles to the diminishing crowds.

Jenna refuses to fulfill any of her obligations. To get her to do anything is like finding a cure ( for her fake) cancer. She does not, will not, won't do what she agreed to in the sale of CJ to Playboy. She is so numbed up from the botox and pills ( yep nothing like a nice pill with your champagne)that she truly is in fantasy land thinking that by doing runway shows for two-bit designers and drag queens will make her respectable. 
Jay is another story. He is, as we all know, a two-bit hustler with a criminal past that milked Jenna for what he could and is now desperately trying to save face with Playboy before they send him to the chopping block. 
As far as their girls go, they had some good ones and they blew that big time.
