Good luck to him. The taxes and constantly changing political scene are his biggest potential problems. They track foreigners closer than the USA and at any time you could find yourself on the outs (especially if you don't get the proper visa and you piss someone off). I seriously doubt he has the finances to maintain his lifestyle there without working but more power to him if he leaves the unappreciative masses behind.
