He didn't step down or become "replaced," he was fired for going on a streak of banning users unheard of in XPT history. Even worse, his BTK killing spree came at the same time another moderator expressed displeasure with a certain user, and his silence in the double-secret moderator forum made it appear that said other moderator perpetrated this offense.

Basically a double scoop of douchebaggery.
