OWEN ON ROAD TO RECOVERY

Troubled actor Owen Wilson - seen here for the first time since his bloody suicide attempt - looks as if he's trying to channel a little peace and tranquility by copping a zen-like pose in the back seat of a car in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The "Wedding Crashers" star was riding alone in the back with his brother Andrew driving and a close pal up front when their car got stuck in holiday traffic early Saturday evening. But the highway snarl didn't phase the beloved, blond-tressed star.

He simply sat quietly with his eyes closed - a far cry from his emotional state during his near-deadly drama last week.
The actor OD'd and slit his wrist in an attempt to kill himself on Aug. 26. His famous actor brother, Luke, found him bloody and disoriented at home.

Owen Wilson was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent treatment and was released several days later.

Sources say he has been battling heroin and cocaine addictions, as well as torturous depression, for months.
His rampant drug use allegedly caused his breakup with cutie-pie actress Kate Hudson in May, friends said.

Since his suicide attempt, he has dropped out of filming the movie "Tropic Thunder."

The flick also stars Wilon's bad-boy Brit pal, Steve Coogan, whom rocker Courtney Love has accused of supplying Wilson with drugs.

Friends have rallied around Wilson, including one of his best pals, director Wes Anderson, who sources said visited the recovering star at mutual friend Woody Harrelson's house earlier Saturday.
