Just a year or so ago the buzz around XBiz was astounding. Certainly no one ever expected it to fully rival AVN but at the very least would give a bit of much needed competition within the on-line adult world. I'm a big fan of competition; it forces companies to improve themselves when they see their share of the market begin to tumble and favor their competition.
XBiz had quite a big of promise; now when I visit their site (especially since I still don't know how the posting of adult news stories on AVN's redesign seems to work) it looks just AMATEURISH. The entire background is devoted to HushCash, some mediocre looking affiliate site mainly devoted to black content (not to mention when I visited they had an ad on the right and the featured company profile...can you talk about overload?) and the main reason I would visit their little url, their news stories, all suck. Every preview picture of the front page sucks (grainy pics of the North Carolina and Australia flags) including a pic of everyones favorite gay porn killers looking like it was copied off of AdultFYI. Not to mention such a small number of daily news stories compared to the past, and many of which were covered by sites like AdultFYI days before.
I see that XBiz still runs a regular legal column by Greg Piccionelli (who in my opinion is one of the smartest, if not the smartest, attorneys in adult out there) so maybe they have some promise...but really, what the fuck happened to XBiz? I don't hear their name as much anymore...how long has the downward spiral been going on for them?

They took themselves way too seriously, forgot that AVN had a monopoly and now hardly anyone visits their site.
Props go to them for making AVN pick its game up and finally redesign their creaking website tho.

You are kidding right? if anything i've noticed the amount has increased. mainly I've noticed because i frequent a lot of sites to keep track of the pieces regarding my clients...

Uh, their second TOP NEWS STORY is about an AIDs benefits for "Twink Dreams" on September 20th...are they one of your clients too?
Their 5th top story for today is Joe Francis lawyer firing which broke two days ago and AdultFYI posted yesterday morning. They're a day or two behind on big stories.

That's the point I'm trying to make, why make original content on stories where your writers are just reposting from other sites (let alone two days after the news breaks or days after AVN posts it)...thats why "real" news sites subscribe and pay for AP news service feeds (or other news services) to post stories, so they don't get caught in repetitive reporting or have to deal with a delay in having to re-write stories.

What the fuck does my relevance have to do with anything?  (and if I wanted relevance you think I'd solely be posting to fucking XPT? I'd post a story to DrunkU.com which I write for or post a YouTube video)
The only place I hear XBiz even mentioned anymore or their stories reposted is Luke's site and I wonder why that is...hmmm... Not to mention that Erotica Film Festival Banner on luke's site by XBiz that's been up for months...and really, maybe a few hundred people will show up and how many thousands of dollars have they spent in ads? Hoo wantz to stair at EON McKAI 4 too daze strate? 
Compare that to a year ago or even the beginning of this year. THEY WERE EVERYWHERE. I thought it was a stroke of genius to see them and their affiliate sites all over AVN's AEE in January. Then they seemed to disappear and I know I'm not the only one to think that.

And I've made claims about AVN numerous times that they were really lazy in reporting, especially with press releases (their writers reposted almost entire press releases as their own with one or two sentences changed...PRESS RELEASES I WROTE MY FUCKING SELF!)
But you know what? AVN seems to have gotten their act together after such criticism. The question is will XBiz get theirs?
