If you are a Big Ten fan (like me) and own DirecTv you do not need to purchase the ESPN Game Plan anymore. All/most Big Ten games will be shown on the new Big Ten Network (Fox sports stations).

I got my ESPN Game Plan mailer last week and noticed that they didn't even put the Big Ten logo on it. I'm sure that ABC will still show the OSU vs scUM game but it looks like

ESPN will be taking a back seat when it comes most of their Football/Basketball Schedule. I've notice the first two weeks of the ESPN GP has NO Big Ten games listed.

I'm not sure how many cable providers are going to carry the network. Right now Comcast and Time Warner aren't interested in the network. Folks on the Buckeye boards are going nuts. Changing to DirecTv and calling cable companies asking why no Big Ten channel.

I wonder if other conferences will follow in their footsteps? I think the SEC would be next to jump off the ESPN bandwagon. Should be interesting.

Fuck Ohio St. and their snotty, pretentious fans. I don't care what the stationary at your campus book store says on it you are Ohio State University. You are the only fans and university in the world hung up on making sure an article is stressed when your name is mentioned. You never see Gator, Sooner, Cornhusker, or even Michigan fans go batshit when people don't stress the THE in front of their university names. I know it's a small detail but it bugs the holy shit out of me to hear it 75,000 times on every ESPN college football scoreboard show and every time some nimrod from Columbus calls up Jim Rome.

I don't really care about the Big 10, since I'm out in Pac 10 country (go Trojans). I do, however like good match ups. I'm just glad football is back like any true fan should.

What's all this Ohio state hate? Why waste so much energy on the proverbial runner up. We all know who really rules the big 10.

Those Big Ten fans in rural areas (many of them) who wish to see their teams on TV, DirectTV is the only option. None of the major cable companies in the Big Ten states are signing up for BTN. Luckily, I live in a large city, so I can go join my fellow alums at a sports bar where we have a contract to see our favorite team play every Saturday.

The B10 commish is like the criminal who is holding a gun to the head of a hostage, saying "Give me the money or I'll shoot." The cable companies are the guys saying, Go ahead and shoot. We don't give a fuck."
