How common is this Alt thing going on anyway? And why do people do it? I can't seem to understand the fun of it.



Some people just don't want to own up to what they say, so they start alts to preserve the images their primary identities portray.

Others do it to spice things up so it doesn't get boring.



yeah I figured as much, but I can only see the relevance for people who are known industry people. I mean, why should someone like me see the need to portray myself in a certain way? Nobody here knows who I am IRL and that seems to eb the norm around here.
