NEW YORK - Amy Winehouse has canceled all concerts and public appearances for the rest of the year on doctor's orders. "The rigors involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll," said Winehouse representative Tracey Miller in a statement Tuesday.

"In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues."

The decision by the 24-year-old retro soul singer comes "on the instruction of her doctor," the statement said. Her family asked the media to "respect Amy's privacy at this time."

Winehouse's 25-year-old husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was ordered held in custody in London earlier this month on charges stemming from a case in which he is accused of assaulting a barman in June.

"I can't give it my all onstage without my Blake," Winehouse said in a statement provided by Miller. "I'm so sorry but I don't want to do the shows halfheartedly; I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him, it's just not the same."

She had been scheduled to perform in Britain and Ireland.

Refunds will be given at outlets where the tickets were purchased. There are "no plans at the moment" to reschedule the dates, Miller said.

Winehouse became a critics' darling with her second album, "Back to Black." But she has made headlines in recent months with her sub-par performances, health fears and reports of alleged drug use. In August, she spent time in rehab and canceled a series of dates in Britain, the United States and Canada.

SHE has missing teeth, a fiery temper and looks a bit sweaty – so we really should have guessed that AMY WINEHOUSE is an American wrestling fanatic.


Before she started dabbling in hard drugs she loved watching Lycra-clad men scrapping in their undercrackers.


Amy was a massive WWE fan addicted to flagship shows SmackDown and Raw.


Her favourite fighters were ROB VAN DAM and CHRIS JERICHO (Giant Haystacks and Big Daddy were much better). The Rehab singer even met Chris when she was younger and used to boast to friends about it.

“And she used to go crazy whenever Rob was on TV. He was her favourite.”


Chris is kind of a musician, he has recorded and toured with his own hard rock band, FOZZY.


Rob is the former WWE and ECW champion famous for his high-flying style both in and out of the ring. He was arrested for possessing marijuana in 2006.

Amy Winehouse attended her husband’s preliminary court hearing today. Blake Fielder-Civil is in jail on charges of perverting justice when he attempted to fix a trial. After leaving the hearing, Amy Winehouse went to McDonald’s where she ran around the parking lot clutching packets of McNugget sauce. I’m glad to see her husband’s legal troubles aren’t interrupting her daily routine. The McNugget run is a crucial component because it keeps Amy limber for her afternoon ritual of throwing KFC coleslaw at stray cats.

Hospitalized singer Amy Winehouse has emphysema, father says

Like troubled singer Amy Winehouse needed another reason to quit smoking crack.

Doctors have diagnosed the Grammy winner with emphysema, according to her father.

"The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won't just ruin her voice, it will kill her," Mitch Winehouse told Britain's Daily Mirror. "The doctors have said that if she had continued the way she was going she could have ended up an invalid - she wouldn't have been able to breathe."

Doctors told the troubled singer her lungs are only operating at 70% capacity.

"With smoking the crack cocaine and the cigarettes, her lungs are all gunked up," her father said. "There are nodules around the chest and dark marks."

Winehouse, 24, was hospitalized last week after fainting in her London home.

Her father said he has hopes for his daughter and warned crack dealers to stop selling drugs to her.

"I'm saying to those drug dealers - and they know who they are - if they are supplying crack to Amy, then they've got to take responsibility," he said. "I don't want her hanging out with her mates like Pete Doherty, either."

Doherty, another British singer, has had his share of drug woes, including multiple arrests and rehab stints.

"If she doesn't go back to drugs, then she can lead this magnificent life," he said. "We are praying that that's what Amy really wants. She seems resolute."

Mitch Winehouse also said he expects his daughter to be able to perform at the Glastonbury Festival next week.

"She abstains and regulates her drug use when she has to do a show," he said. "I've started to see my old Amy back. We'll just have to see how great her resolution is."
