No 'sense' about it...it is stealing. But you have grasped the nettle of the issue vis a vis how piracy will affect producers and thus the type of porn that gets produced.

How many views is the B5fan movie thread up to now? Must be close to 4 million, I would guess...do you think people look at that thread for the scintillating conversation? Rather than go worst case scenario and equate each page view with one lost DVD sale at either wholesale or retail, let me take it the other way and instead attribute a nominal, trifling 50 cent loss for each page view (averaged out...some will do more financial damge than others). That's getting on into the region of $2 million lost sales in the IR genre alone, and like I say, that's the best case scenario. If you cut it down to just 25 cents, it's still a cool million bucks.

Piracy on a niche specific board is a lot more damaging because it is targeted. You want to watch an interracial scene for free. Let's say there are 1000 scenes available on the torrent site (a simplification, but bear with it)...what percentage of those scenes will be interracial, given all of the wonderfully diverse niches and genres that make up porn? Certainly less than 10%.

Now you go to a niche-specific site like the MM forum, and guess what...100% of what's available is what you're looking for. It's simple math.

Personally, I couldn't give a shit either way...if IR fans want to put the producers in the poorhouse, so be it. I prefer features anyway. It's just having to put up with tritone's constant whining and inability to see the bigger picture which pisses me (and most of the rest of the board) off.
