Why not distribute it through AEBN? Or Hotmovie? or any of the other places that let you actually make a profit and provide customer service to the customer viewing it if they have issues?
The same reason why you claim college kids do College Invasions for free...because I had a ton of fun with it and raised hell. It's hard to fight "the man" when you have making money on your mind. I'd rather have 600,000 people see my fat ass and have the only costs the few hundred bucks for the actress then only have 2,000 see it and maybe have a few dollars in my pocket (kids still download and watch that stupid video to show their friends what college is about).

This is the thing .. the goverment jumps down our throat about 2257 and protecting kids ... where is the docmention for bit torrent sites? a 12 year old can go on any of those networks and get it for free.
Uh, that's the difference between a primary and secondary producer (though I'm not even sure what a pirated movie over a torent would be considered...a third-ary producer?). If this is a concern for your business you should have kicked Jeffrey Fredrick Douglas' ass ten feet out the door given FSC's legal actions to protect secondary producers from 2257 inspection; that $10,000 check from Adult Friend Finder was for these exact reasons.

That bothers me ... as i am sure once you have distribution .. you will see .. every download is another movie you could have sold.
Oh, I'm well aware of distribution. A little story...
----------------------
Back when I was editor at The Koala we'd print 6,000-10,000 issues. They would cost us 6-12 cents each and we'd distribute them for free. Angry bastards ranging from MECHA members to angry wanna-be hippies to Fem-Nazi's went out of their way to throw away stacks of our paper, usually about 100 in each stack around campus, because of its "evil," "racist," "sexist" content; we , along with a majority of our campus called it no holds-barred humor. Our student government even protested us by shredding stacks of our issues. It wasn't uncommon to have 500-1000 of our papers vandalized or stolen *each* month.
I contacted the cops (back in 2005/2006 in school) and they told me tough shit; there's nothing they could do because it wasn't against the law. So you know what I did when I was up in Sacramento for a few weeks off and on in Spring 2006? I Told every legislator and staffer I met my story and to support any law to support the theft of student newspapers, and to support laws being discussed about it.
They passed AB 2612:
Gov. Schwarzenegger Signs Bill Outlawing Theft of Free Newspapers
Now the next time some piece of garbage steals my hard work, I've got their head on a misdemeanor and the cops can't any longer sit on their donut eating asses when a theft of *my* paper happens, otherwise I can hit them with a lawsuit for dereliction of duty.

You have domestic and international copyright laws in YOUR FAVOR. I had to drive up to Sac-town to get a law passed, you already have MANY enacted on a global basis protecting your product. All you need to do is flex your power.
