Quote: 5. I have TONS of Ramones stories from being on the road with Dee Dee.
""53rd & 3rd" was the second single by punk rock band The Ramones. It was released February 1976.
The song, written by Dee Dee Ramone, refers to a famous spot for male prostitution in New York where it is speculated that he himself had been a "hustler"; and used the money earned there to pay for his heroin habit which he immortalized in "Chinese Rocks", and which ultimately killed him (he died from an overdose in 2002). In the movie End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones, Dee Dee is ambiguous on whether he actually hustled on that corner, although all other members of the band claim or at least imply that he did."
What do you think, Kurt?
That fucking song rocks. It was the biggest hit when we would play it to sold out show after sold out show of packed adoring punk rock, kids. Oh, yeah, that kind of glory/rush is something YOU'LL never know anything about at all, huh, douchie? Yes, artists sometimes use difficult periods of their lives to fuel their art. It's called taking lemons and making lemonade. Wow. To blindly attack the Ramones (when it has nothing to do with me) in here pretty much alienates you from soooo many punk rock loving posters in here (even the ones that hate me ) and you have no idea because you are such a shithead.
