5. I have TONS of Ramones stories from being on the road with Dee Dee.
""53rd & 3rd" was the second single by punk rock band The Ramones. It was released February 1976.
The song, written by Dee Dee Ramone, refers to a famous spot for male prostitution in New York where it is speculated that he himself had been a "hustler"; and used the money earned there to pay for his heroin habit which he immortalized in "Chinese Rocks", and which ultimately killed him (he died from an overdose in 2002). In the movie End of the Century: The Story of the Ramones, Dee Dee is ambiguous on whether he actually hustled on that corner, although all other members of the band claim or at least imply that he did."
What do you think, Kurt?
