King Of New York (Special Edition) dvd
Yeah, it’s not porno, but this killer flick has just been reissued in a new package with brilliant extras like director Abel Ferrara discussing the movie as it rolls along it’s entirety and a new feature featuring Philadelphia rapper Schoolly D snowboarding. If you don’t know who Schoolly D is and what his music was to the development of gangster rap you sure need to be schooled, but I don’t have time for that here. Basically, his music fits in just right on the soundtrack to this smoothly noir-ish and violent modern crime film shot in the late 80’s Big Apple when crack was the devilish hit drug sweeping down the streets. Much in the same way Larry Fishburne and Christopher Walken both made their characters totally perfect for the needs of this flick, Harvey Keitel would become the anti-hero in Ferrara’s next masterpiece Bad Lieutenant. King Of New York is a movie only the gritty & gutsy director Abel Ferrara could make work combined with stellar performances from top-notch actors. Take it from me, if you haven’t seen this yet it’s a highly recommended breather from all that porn inhalation. [Artisan]

I could have sworn that Schooly D did the theme song for Aqua Teen Hunger Force so I just assumed that he rapped for Pee Pants too. The theme to the show is quite good by the way.
