No, porn today IS NOT what it was during the time span that Boogie Nights took place (77-85). Back then porn was more momorable... produced on the sly... and shown in the dark (I'm all for the Tenderloin), with sticky floors and unknown raincoaters surrounding you... There was an air of dangerous mystery to it... The allure of being told "not to look", but doing so anyway through opened fingers....

She is desperate to be taken as a mainstream celebrity and she hates the adult industry even though she claims to be thankful for everything it gave her. She only does appearances now because she is contractually obligated and her drunken sailor spending habits force her to basically prostitute herself for Playboy.

I understand being mad cause your life was less than pleasant growing up, but come on babe get over it already and go spend your money, or whats left of it anyway, and just go away and get your nails done. Johansen was never going to do that movie, and neither will anyone else she thinks is high and mighty enough to play Jenna. You would be lucky to get Tara Reid or your good friend Paris Hilton.

Scarlett, who, if you believe the British tabloids, has signed on to star as porn queen Jenna Jameson in the adaptation of her best-selling and surprisingly well-reviewed autobiography, "How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale."

"I tapped up Scarlett for the part and I'm very excited about the film," the alarmingly attenuated and much-altered sex siren is quoted as telling Britain's Daily Express. "It was my decision not to play the role because I've lived that life already and anyone can play themself."

While Jameson has gushed for months that the A-list beauty-cum-Woody Allen muse would be the perfect choice to headline her lurid tale of sex, drugs and award-winning girl-on-girl action (hey, she's a member of the prestigious X-Rated Critics Organization Hall of Fame), it looks like she's barking up the wrong bombshell.

Johansson denies any and all involvement in the sure-to-be skin-heavy flick.

"There is no truth to this," Johansson's spokesperson, Marcel Pariseau, pooh-poohs to MSN Entertainment. "Scarlett has never seen a script nor been approached about this project. She also has no interest in playing this role. It is wishful thinking on the part of Ms. Jameson."

As a person, from a completely personal standpoint, I don't really have any beef with Jen. She's got her issues, I've got mine, you have yours... My main gripe is, more from a professional standpoint... Professionally, she (along with a few others out there) have been placed on this platform allowing the rest of the world to view them as "the porn industry" when in fact, they (and the films they've made) only make up a small fraction of the industry as a whole.

In truth, the types of films they've made don't even amount to 1 percent of the industry as a whole.

Fact: Jenna could be really impressive and deserving of the "star" moniker by calling up old Max Hardcore, or Skeeter, or dropping by J.M.'s offices with the words... "I think my career needs an image adjustment, can you help me out", falling out of her mouth.

Now THAT would be impressive!!!

Not some fucking over-fluffed, can't secure a lead actress, biopic that you are implying will be better than P.T. Anderson's funktastic, Boogie Nights. At least his flick got made, girly... and it had an ALL STAR cast!

I really don't get why everybody in porn *hates* on Boogie Nights.

Yeah, its *somewhat* based on true events but has one of the most realistic morals and lessons to any movie produced in the last 20 years (if anything the real life stories from that period of porn are so much worse from what I've read). It still remains up there as one of my top ten movies even before I got involved with the world of porn.

Wasn't this the same Jenna who wrote in her "autobiography" about being raped, the lack of a mom pretty much drover her into porn, and was down and out methed out of her mind for years, not to mentioned being taken advantage of by a number of producers?

I thought her "life story" was much more depressing than Boogie Nights ever was.

I don't really think "Boogie Nights" was designed to be about "real" people, but rather "inspired by"... Which REALLY leaves the flood gates open for anything and everything to come down the pike.... My guess is P.T. Anderson took many of the things he "heard" or read about and just lumped it all together.

Personally, I liked the movie "Rated X" about the rise and fall of Jim & Artie Mitchell. From what I gather, it was pretty spot on correct".

In any event, I do hope Jenna's biopic works out well for her. Personally, I wouldn't try to make the movie as some high-end, glossy, Hollyweird feature.... I seriously think that will kill what it "could" be (contrary to popular belief... a lump of shit squeezed out of a billionaire's asshole is still just a lump of shit). I would personally take it down the independent road and fill it with fresh new faces.
