Charlie@FOXmagazine I haven't read that book but I will check for it. The book that first got me interested in Haiti was William Seabrook's The Magic Island. I actually read it as a kid and somehow it resurfaced when I was reading about Jean Price Mars.

Soopergrizz: I've actually been to Cuba. I thought it was fantastic, but not as great as Columbia. I actually know a guy from Haiti but he doesn't like to talk about it. Maybe his parents were slaughtered or something.
