That's REALLY sad, as lame as I sound.

Weekly World News was probably one of the largest influences on me when it came to humor writing and the media in general; it was a large influence on my work when I worked on The Koala in college which in turn led to the whole world of porn (among some other projects a bunch of our old staff is working on including working with some of the biggest names in humor). A lot traces directly back to WWN and quite a few staff members felt the same way.

Damn, I remember being perhaps 5 and thinking WWN was real when they had a picture of a giant sand flea on the cover I saw in a super market line. That fucking thing scared me for MONTHS after!
