Playmate Jennifer Lynn Jackson arrested on DUI Following the age-old axiom "beauty is temporary, stupid is forever", the 1989 Playmate Jennifer Lynn Jackson went from the cover of Playboy to the cover of a rap sheet, again. Jackson was arrested over the weekend for driving while intoxicated. While searching the beauty, the cops also found a bag of marijuana. On top of all these charges, she also allegedly stole cigarettes from a local store. Jennifer Lynn Jackson went to court yesterday and was charged with DUI and theft, to which she filed a not guilty plea. A dash cam on the cruiser caught Jennifer Lynn Jackson taking the sobriety test, and almost getting hit by the oncoming traffic, after an unsuccessful attempt to prove her innocence to the trouper. Police also found in her car open beer bottles, marijuana, and rolling papers. Further allegations are that she stole the cigarettes and cigars found in her vehicle. Although she failed field sobriety tests, Jackson's breathalyzer test results revealed only a .077 reading, which is just barely below the state's .08 legal limit. I'm surprised more Playmates (and indeed, Penthouse Pets, and Page 3 girls too) don't make the jump to porn...some go on to model for Playboy's Newstand Specials, but a lot of the time they just use previously unseen shots from their centerfold shoot...for the rest, it's pretty much a one-shot deal. I forget whether it's $20,000 or $25,000 they get, but either way, that's not going to last them forever. Especially when you consider how few of them go on to any form of sustained mainstream success. If I was someone like AEBN, I'd start approaching some recent ex-Playmates with regards to PPV hardcore shoots. I'm sure there are quite a few of these girls who could bring in not only a decent buyrate, but probably an increased fee as well. They have decent exposure and name recognition, plus the added cachet of being a Playboy Playmate. Most of them escort anyways, as the Mark Yagalla case demonstrated, so it's not that much of a leap. The difference is, most do so at an incredibly inflated rate which means they consequently get less work and make less per annum than lower priced girls I think a 50/50 split between producer and Playmate could yield a healthy chunk of change. Use 100% disease free stuntcocks, light and shoot it properly, and you've got yourself a bonafide cash cow ready to be milked...frankly, I'm kind of surprised Playboy themselves haven't tried something along these lines themselves under a different brand. Anyone more intimately connected with the VOD/PPV market want to hazard a guess at how much such a scene (i.e., not shot by drunken, annoyingly talkative boyfriend with nightvision camcorder) would be worth? How many 'units' does a good VOD title sell? Is it inconceivable that 5,000 people worldwide would be prepared to pay $10 to see one of their favourite Playmates or Kyla Cole/Jana Cova/Aria Giovanni do b/g (thus putting their b/g scene rate at somewhere around $25,000, which is at least 20 times the current average)? Add in your ancillaries like DVD sales (If the girls shoots 5-6 scenes, for example), Hotel/Cable PPV, Download to Own/Burn etc., and it all begins to add up. The trick is getting the talent with the name recognition/built-in audience, which most Playmates (and a few other notable magazine models) already have.

That's a good question. It looks like Playboy has always been considered a stepping stone to greater things. The myth seems to be that if you play it right Playboy can propel you into the upper echelons of American society... and that you would be doing the wrong thing and wasting a great opportunity if you just went on to being a vulgar whore... somehow it's prestigious and socially acceptable to appear nude in Playboy - but it's not acceptable if it's any other smut publication. It's the result of successful branding of Playboy. Apparently not all Playmates move on to greater things, but the satisfaction that comes from being able to say "I was in Playboy, I'm one of the most beautiful women in the world" maybe lasts a lifetime...

You know, I saw a movie recently with two Playboy Playmates (Angel Boris and Jaime Bergman, who was also on 'Son of the Beach') in it. It was 'Boa vs. Python' the sequel to 'Python' (which featured former Playmate of the Year Jenny McCarthy)...both movies are craptaculars with some of the worse CGI and acting you could ever hope to see. Angel Boris was naked a lot. Playmates pretty much suffer the same problem as pornstars in that they are immediately typecast (if they get cast at all), and the roles they are offered will reflect this...Hot chick that gets naked and fucks is going to be pretty much their only dramatic calling, and I don't think stepping up to hardcore will change that for better or for worse. I think a list of Playmates that kept their clothes on in movie roles would be incredibly short...of the ones I'm aware of, the only one that comes to mind is Cara Wakelin in a blink-and-you'll-miss-her role in 'Death To Smoochy'. Having a Playmate in your movie that doesn't get naked is like having Bruce Lee in your movie but not having any martial arts scenes. The audience has certain expectations that need to be met, after all. 'Death To Smoochy' wasn't that bad, but it would have been a whole lot better (and probably grossed a lot more $$$) if Ms. Wakelin had appeared like this: At the end of the day, being a Playmate, Pet, or Pornstar is like being someone who was in Power Rangers...one or two might buck the trend, but 99.9% of them don't ever have to worry about blowing their shot at mainstream, because it ain't ever coming. As for satisfaction...it don't pay the rent. Marketed correctly, a PPV exclusive event like a popular Playmate or Pet going hardcore would be a great earner for all concerned. That's why studios are falling over themselves to spend ridiculous amounts of money on piss-poor quote-unquote 'celebrity' sex tapes...if someone has name recognition and can bring an audience with them, then it's going to make bank.
