As far as hard drives are concerned, h2c is right. Hard drives will work on either OS, Mac or Windows. I think Mac's were the first to adopt the serial ATA hard drive before Windows machines did. I could be wrong. I would think you could freeze the drive and get data off of it even though it's formatted for the Mac OS.
