Very true...some people think Asian girls are dog ugly. Others (and I include myself in this number) think they are as hot as all fuck. Tera Patrick is the de facto #1 star in the industry at the minute, and she's half-Thai, so I think Joe Porn Consumer is pretty tolerant of ethnicity if the chick is hot enough.

For example, I think Jenna Haze is kinda hot, but I don't think her popularity has anything to do with her ethnicity because there are 100's of other girls who look a lot more like the kind of girl I'd want (or expect) to see in a Latina-themed flick than she does.

It's a weird one...one hardly needs to be fluent in English to perform in a Gonzo film (just look at Donny Long, for example! ), but it makes little sense for Japanese girls to come over to the US when they have a domestic industry, plus the US has its own supply of Asian chicks, in various different ethnic varieties. It would be like Bree Olsen or Sasha Grey suddenly deciding that they were going to go over to Prague or Budapest and start working there, or a Page 3 girl deciding she was going to leave the UK and emigrate to Japan and become a Gravure idol. It just doesn't happen...I'm not sure if the Mann Act is a part of the problem, but no doubt one of our cadre of lawyers could offer an informed opinion on it.

Maria Ozawa, however, is a bona fide exception to the rule. She's contract quality, and speaks fluent English, so I've no doubt she could make it in the US if she wanted to, but perhaps she's happy where she is (geographically and career-wise) and with what she's doing and earning?
