I posted on here months ago about the talent and Herpes. I just knew it...there could be no way all these years talent has not caught "H 2". So, why does AIM not test every month for Herpes? I mean the talent is just tested for 3 STD's. Let's make Herpes and Warts be apart of the test. Ladies in the biz....if a guy or girl has a cold sore going down on you...it does turn into H 2. Keep that in mind! i believe most if not all the talent has Herpes! Sad................................

Simple solution: Test for herpes, make sure performers only work with other performers in the same boat (i.e. the same type of herpes, or lack thereof). How great would it be for a producer to be able to put their hand on their heart (metaphorically speaking...most don't actually have one) and say 'You won't catch anything on our set!'? This is an opportunity for AIM and the industry to be proactive...will they take it?

They ought to make it mandatory to be a member of AIm, where you have to pay dues (offsets cost of tests), and be tested for all of that shit every two weeks. If it's that bad, and they care enough...

Okay, I can agree with you. When I am watching porn for "fun", my thoughts are not "I wonder if I can see any open sores if I look really hard?" or "What kind of diseases have been passed around in this scene?" I, like yourself, just like to view the videos for what they are.
On the other hand, let's look at ADT. More industry type people seem to post there than here. If someone posted this important porn-related topic there, the thread would be locked and deleted, because fans just don't want to think about that. The poster of the topic would more than likely be banned for causing trouble, when he/she may have thought this was a topic that needed addressed by porn people.
Honestly, that is ridiculous. The porn industry has a valuable tool there, where they could be talking about finding some kind of solution to this problem(DanG idea seemed to make sense). But noooooo, this topic couldn't be discussed(even with the utmost sincerity and civility) just because people don't want to think about nasty, icky warts while they're jerking off.
and that's a shame if you ask me.

Great idea for a site! The truth of Porn for all to know. Do get it up and running! I wrote to that person at AIM. Have not heard back. Doubt I even will. BUTT...I really think Herpes should be tested and that wanna be DR. Sharon should have all vagina's and penis' checked out once a month for any sores! Tritone, see it this way...xpt is a more a behind-the-scenes look at porn. It's not just about porn here but also about the porn industry.
This thread or other std related threads are not to out any particular performers, though some unfortunately for them, have been outted. I can see how maybe that can taint (no pun intended...heh) your porn viewing, but for many here, it doesn't. If that lowers certain girls' stroke value to you, then time to focus on the other hundreds of porn girls.
Just separate porn from reality when you watch it. I know I do, but I can't watch friends. Odd, huh? We all have our own weird viewing quirks. The trick is to work around them.

Isn't everybody forgetting that Herpes is incurable?? It's a virus, forgodssakes. No matter what suppressants you take to keep the outbreaks to a minimum, like Valtrax, it will NEVER leave your body. The virus remains dormant in your body between outbreks, but there is no way of telling if you will have an outbreak tomorrow on set even if you don't show any signs of sores today. And you can very well be contagious before the sores pop up on your first day of outbreak. So testing for active sores doesn't really do anything. Here today, gone tomorrow, and vice versa. And testing for the virus itself, and banning people with herpes from working, would mean the porn industry would lose 99% of the talent. (And I don't care what they tell you, they all have it.)

With an attitude like that, then no, it isn't going away.
If the industry was a little more proactive and divided the talent into pools corresponding to their herpes status/type, then you would cut the spread of it in no time.
Don't get me wrong...I'm sure plenty of people come in to the industry with herpes already, but it's simple logic to say 'Performer X has herpes, performer Y doesn't, therefore X and Y shouldn't work together.'
After all, we already separate HIV+ performers from HIV- performers, and Evil Angel has already shot a scene with two performers from the HIV+ pool (John Stagliano and Tricia Devereaux respectively), so why couldn't this be done with herpes? I think the industry is missing a trick here, personally.

Nobody is saying 'ban'...but I am saying 'segregate'. Talent with herpes can just keep on working with fellow talent with herpes (which, if the rumours are true, is quite a hefty talent pool to choose from). Those who don't just work with other people who don't have herpes. Simple and effective.

I've always heard remarkable things about the sheer number of herpes infections in the industry. I know I'm clean after getting the full test and really it was the STD I was most worried about; I figured I had a 75% of picking it up now. I've just always been surprised people working who don't have it aren't more stringent on demanding monthly testing let alone just asking for any test on it even if its six months old.
yes I did.some of the things he says in the infomercial makes him sound like a qauck but in his book there is a lot of truth to it I had a cousin that had lupis she did'nt want drugs to treat it so her mom brought the natural cure book (the origanal) and what he recommended cured her of it
and thats a fact.
dont believe the negitive hype about him online most of the sites that says negitive things about him are from people who are in the government or paid off by the government to miss lead people about him.

Maybe dmso creating an oxygen rich environment in the cells can greatly lower the risk for herpes, but dubious as a cure. Same with coconut- the lauric acid content lowers risk greatly but doesn't cure. Oxygen kills bacteria like yeast or staph, but herpes isn't a bacteria- it's a virus.
As for kevin t, he's the dr phil of natural medicine- he's useless and his fans are the rob longshots of the world who just found out last week that processed foods were bad for you. Kliment (Acid and Alkaline Diet) or even weston a price are more informed, plus the alt med vs gov message is discussed but they never got legal probs like kevin t because their delivery isn't so vaudville preacherman.

Here's the problem...many of the crack/meth hoes that come into the industry probably don't want to get tested for herpes because it would eliminate them from working to support their habit. And if they didn't have porn, they'd end up on the corner.
As far as the guys, they simply don't care if the girls have herpes or if he has it and spreads it because simply he can't get another job anyways.
It's a vicious cycle but the performers simply have nothing else to do to support them so they choose to live with a STD that isn't fatal.
These performers can live with Herpes because it isn't taboo. 1 in 5 American teenagers and adults have Herpes type 2 and 1 in 4 American women have herpes 2. So based on those national stats, we can apply to the number of performers.

Having herpes wouldn't prevent them from working with other performers with herpes...just the ones who don't have herpes.
As you correctly point out, it's extremely common in the general population. All I'm saying is that porn could totally cut out any new infections if they wanted to.
The real issue is: Can they actually be bothered?

Problem with this is that the number of performers with Herpes are far more than those without. If that is the case, the new girls that come into the business without herpes are left with a small talent pool of male performers without Herpes.
Having said that, it would be as boring as seeing these new girls working with their boyfriends scene after scene because you would only see them with several male performers over and over.

Or it might force the industry to actually seek out (GASP) *new* male talent who would be entering the adult work force with some sort of initial idea on sexual health and STDs.  Personally I've gotten bored with the same group of ugly, over-40 male performers who for way too long have violated way too many young newbs on film and by this point just have to have the herp's by now. You think it would benefit a smart girl (especially an 18-19 year old) entering the industry to get fully tested (and come out clean) before her first scene and then could demand any male talent she works with be the same. Then again that would involve a whore being smart about her career and having realistic long term goals for it.  I'd love for a major industry purge of male talent and having a smarter and much younger group come in rather than the current veterans who are so full of themselves it only reminds me which way most of them swing.  Imagine the day when the ugliest of the current pool of male talent is forced out and you actually see guys closer to that hot 19 year old's age. Imagine the day when we see the last of Nick Manning, Dick Tracy, Brandon Iron and countless others on film.

Zoo Elephant Dies Of Herpes
SEATTLE - The Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle says the 6-year-old elephant who died last month had herpes.
Hansa died June 8 after her handlers noted a drop in activity and appetite. Since her death, scientists across the country have studied her tissue, organ and blood samples in an effort to determine the cause.
Officials say they don't know how Hansa got the disease but she may have had it since birth. They also don't know if three surviving elephants at the zoo have herpes.

I know of a porn girl, who's a good friend of mine, that started a month ago. She shot 12 interracial scenes and 3 regular scenes. Already she caught and has an outbreak of herpes. It wasn't from the white guys.

As I have said previously: The best time to test talent for Herpes is before you shoot the scene, not afterwards.
Yet more evidence (if it is indeed true) that the industry needs to embrace my idea of 'Herp pools', because then shit like this wouldn't have to happen.

Given that she shot 15 scenes with 10 guys, it is relatively a small talent pool and short period of time to get it. I truly believe that 3 out of 4 woman in porn have Herpes 2 and 4 out of 5 male talent have it. This is about triple the rate of the general population because of frequency these porners shoot and the small talent pool.
