Danny Dyer's Real Football Factories International: Argentina

Danny Dyer, star of the hooligan film 'The Football Factory' has already done the rounds of the UK firms, so now he's off abroad...the Argentina episode was very interesting because it explained the root cause of the Argentine hooliganism problem. Unlike England, where the football clubs are companies, in Argentina they are societies, and the fans have a vote in who the chairman is. The firms control the fans, and thus control the clubs.

The Velez Sarsfield firm take him on a tour of the stadium, totally unspervised, and out on to the pitch, where a club waiter brings them cold drinks and snacks...bizarre! Sadly, this bit isn't in the You Tube clip.

Oh, by the way, in case you're wondering about the old lady with the placard saying 'Moron', it's an area of Argentina, not an insult!

I recall a 'mini riot' that took place during a soccer match between a military academy and a local school - the school players taunted the military players - on tv. Nothing else happened and the game was played.

I don't recall who won the soccer game. Pretty nasty business; kidnapping, robbing, torturing, raping and murdering everyone you didn't like and under cover of authority.
