Hey pornheads!

I was just wondering if anyone is shooting porn on the new jvc high def cameras? If you are I would love to hear some feedback. I am considering purchasing 2 but I don't no anyone currently using them.

have you shot with them or is this just your generalization that for shooting porn a 100 dollar camera is as good or just as useful as one of higher quality? The video industry is rapidly moving to higher standards of video production the porn industry will certainly shadow this movement. I am preparing to re-invest in cameras and lighting just trying to stay a head of the game. Thanks for your feedback !

Yes, I have shot with them, and NOT porn.

Porn can be done with any VHS camcorder from the 80´s. 90% of porn cameramen don´t know how to light, shoot, frame and focus anyway, so the equipment doesn´t matter.

I think there are more camera men who actually give a fuck and know how to properly light, frame, move fluidly with the camera etc. When I was in school the video age was turning from analog to digital , I had to learn to edit on both so I could not see shooting on legacy equipment unless you wanted to waste your time or were going for some sort of old timer aesthetic appeal . I am really impressed with some of the new stuff coming out of smaller studios, I think as the cost has gone down for the "pro-amateur" gear the quality of porn has continued to go up.

I'm a television cameraman here in oz and I agree, some of the proam gear on the market these days is fantastic, and well proced too. I have no experience with the new jvc cams, but reading the specs I doubt the end result would look much better than a good DV cam.

For the record our television station uses the Sony PDW530 cameras for field work.
