As I've said in AWOP, I've been both a Prosecutor and Defense Counsel.
From a Prosecutor's perspective, Low Rider did everything I could have wanted.
If I'd been his Lawyer, Low Rider did exactly as I'd have advised him.
The simple fact is that, despite Dick Head's faux bravado and Real-World naieveté, Low Rider did the only thing he could do. I guarentee you that the two guys he supposedly "Narced" on would have done the same thing. Hell, put them in seperate interview rooms and they'd be scrambling to see who can concoct the better story.
And Dick Head, I promise you that you would have done the exact same thing in his shoes. You would be shaking in your boots and shitting in your pants as a 6'2" Prosecutor and a pair of veteran cops explain in intricate detail how the best years of your life will be spent married to a Ving Rhames looking gentleman named Bubba, and how you'll have nothing, Nothing left when you finally get out, a broken husk of a man. I especially enjoyed the full look of horror on a Defendant's face as his lawyer leaned in and whispered in his ear "He's telling you the truth, Dick. Let's take the deal." It's always the punks who crow the loudest about how they'll never rat out someone that do the most crying and blubbering like a baby in the interview room.

That's the beauty of the internet. It brings people together who would in no other circumstance be interacting with one another. See Jim, you and I are two different types of people. We drink at different bars, we hang out with different types of people, we do different stuff. Now, narcrider admitted he sold drugs to an under cover cop. Dick Head, I agree that he's not too bright if he sold X to an undercover. No question about it. I'd still rather have the big guys than him any day. I still say he did the only thing he could do, and You would do the same.
And there ARE no big checks in Government service. That's why I left four years ago.

Yeah, I'm vaguely familiar with the term. Do you know what happens to people who "Lawyer Up" in those circumstances? They take a fall, and spend fifteen years being married to a guy named Bubba. And this is in Texas we're talking about (in Low Riders case.) I wouldn't wish a trip to the Texas Pennitentiary on Cheney, let alone some dumb kid who made a mistake with 15 hits of Extacy.
You lawyer up in a case like this, you get HARD time because you've pissed off the Assistant DA who made you an offer, offended the jurors (since you're dumb enough to actually let it go to trial instead of taking the deal) who have seen their communities overrun by drugs, and incurred the wrath of a granite-faced, 80-year-old Texas Judge who hates everything, everybody, and especially YOU for wasting everyone's time instead of taking the deal you were offered from the get-go.
You want to LawyerUp? You deserve to go to prison. Say hi to Bubba for me.

Dude, Law & Order sucks liger balls. I had to stop watching because I kept yelling "WRONG" at the TV. You're right, a good lawyer can get you out of all sorts of jams, like telling you to take the deal when your facing 15 years in the Texas Pennitentiary. Oh well, getting on the Boozing hour.
