In a more sadistic way, our laws are worse. Jeff and I each face 50 years imprisonment, which if convicted, the prosecutors would probably demand. Which would mean we would both rot away and die in prison if we got the max penalty. (Pardon the pun) Me, I'll take a firing squad instead, any day.

Well I hope Cheney's not part of the firing squad. He's liable to take half of them out before you finish your last cigarette.

The problem is, Max, that these fuckers wouldn't do it nice and neat, like a firing squad or even a Beheadding. They'ed stone you to death, and that's a pretty fucked up way to die. If it was me, yeah, I'd take the firing squad over 50 years. But not a stoning.

This isnt a criticism of you Max or Jeff. You're both obviously very intelligent businessmen. But after reading the "vod" thread I'm left wondering why JM Productions doesn't take it on a global scale. Look no further than the online gaming industry. The IRS wanted a piece and they said- faahhuck that- Same shit applies.
I know I'm merely a thread de-railing pain in the ass but theres a line from 8mm that rings true here... something about small time assholes. lol
pm me for any further advice.

The first question is not worth asking. Max is going to say he films consenting adults making films for consenting adults. Thats not the law right now, but with an insane amount of luck maybe his case changes that.
The second question, well its just an attempt to point out again he's a lawyer. The phrase trying too hard seems appropriate. Just try being a pervert for a change.

Moxie's spot on. The first question, as I've said repeatedly, is a First Amendment issue that will ultimately play out in the courts, although the venue (Middle District of Florida, Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals) really stack the cards against Him. It could very well make it's way to the Supreme Court in two or three years. If the make up of the court stays the same, then it will probably be up to Justice Kennedy. I haven't had time in the last few weeks to read up on his past votes in obsceneties cases, so it's a toss up. As for the second question, Counsellor, you should really know better. Certainly, you should know the Canon of Ethics well enough to know you don't go asking about matters involving the Attorney-Client relationship, especialy regarding fees and expenses, and Especially in a public forum. Here in New York, you'd be before the Disciplinary Committee, were you not protected by anonymity. I don't know if Moxie's correct that "its just an attempt to point out again he's a lawyer," but the fact remains that you do point it out an awful lot. Until this moment, I've never stated outright that I'm an attorney, although some have guessed at it, yourself included. Never even put it on my MySpace, though I may as well now. There's a reason for that: This is a Porn forum, not a legal forum. I've only ventured a legal opinion here as it relates to Max, or the Age of Consent in the Backwards parts of the Country, or some other thing bearing on perversion. Where Moxie is absolutely correct, as Conky concurrs, is at the end: Quote:
The phrase trying too hard seems appropriate. Just try being a pervert for a change.
So you're a lawyer. So am I. So is Moxie. So is Michael. And, if I'm not mistaken, so is Low Rider. Out of all of us, only Michael makes his living handling cases involving the Porn Industry. The rest of us are just perverts with a JD. I try to leave the law at the office (though I often post from the office.) I suggest you do the same for a bit.

Iran is fucked. They stone chicks for getting raped for Christ sakes. I was in Saudi once for a beheading and that shit is just fuckin nasty. If your white they actually push you to the front so you as an infidel can see. As for Max knowing better, it shouldn't even be the issue. He shouldn't even have to worry about what Jimmy Anal in Tight Ass Alabama thinks because they shouldn't be watching his movies if they don't like it in the first place. Like him or not, I'm glad he's got the balls to push the envelope of personal choice. It's not like the chicks don't know what they are getting in to. As long as nothing is forced, and everything is consensual, then what the hell should the Gov, have to do with it? Nothing.

Just how many attorneys post here? It's like a bad John Grisham novel here sometimes. [oxymoron, since there's no such thing as a 'good' one, but you get the idea]. Does that make Jeff the Al Pacino/Satan character? I think.... yes.

I don't know what value that would have in terms of raising funds, but a few events like that would definately go a long way towards raising awareness of the problem. It might be worth mulling over.

Fuck you. When we last argued about this I pointed out that the majority of posts I made did not mention my occupation or legal issues at all. you deliberately ignored that point.
We did not have an argument about anything. What we had was me, painfully assfucking you, with the combined uselessness of your body of 'work'.
In fact, bitch, after I shanked you with your own posting history, you skulked off to bleed out under your mother's skirts.
Just so there's no misunderstanding, we don't give a shit if you're a lawyer, so stop trying to impress us with all your bullshit legal knowledge and irrelevant anecdotes. If you have nothing useful to add, shut the fuck up whilst the adults are speaking to one another.
By the way, even if a MAJORITY of your posts have not been about your awesome legal career, a PLURALITY of them have. Perhaps you can have one of your classmates explain the difference to you.
You may go now.

As far as judging me, if you are licensed yourself please say so.
My credentials and professional CV are no concern of yours, nor are they relevant to our discussion. Unlike you, I did not arrive here trumpeting my mad skillz as an attorney. Your first post
You make your status as a lawyer the peg upon which you hang virtually all of your posts - that makes the apparent shallowness of your legal knowledge relevant to how we judge you.
Here's one Another! Career advice freely offered When will it end?

Actually, Grizz didn't give me hell about my legal background so much as my infatuation with hookers. He did rightly point out that I was making a big deal out of the firm I work for. I didn't really like being called out, but I couldn't argue with what he said. Grizz is normally spot on with this stuff, i suggest you just reflect and move on.
I don't really talk about the law in more than a passing comment unless I'm asked a question or its really germane. I really post mostly about economics in porn as I'm more a businessman than a lawyer these days.
Just listen to whats been said, reflect and be a better pervert. Its hard to take a tongue lashing, but with great wisdom comes great perversion.
