I'm not saying Republicans are a fountain of joy for free speech but that there is no shortage of politicians on either side of the political spectrum willing to legislate and attack you.
Here's a quote from the morning newspaper in regards to Houston's SOB's (all sexually oriented businesses are under the gun due to a city ordinance):
"We would like these businesses that degrade women to close down," he said. "If the county feels that it needs to strengthen whatever laws that they have, we would support folks in the county who wish to do it. Our job is to protect the residents inside the city."
This is from Mayor Bill White, a certified Democrat that sat on President Clinton's Cabinet. There are scores of other cities doing likewise and they are not all Republican-driven.
