The approach straight porn has used to protect against AIDS is unusual: Just Say No to HIV+ partners (i.e., you can’t get HIV from a HIV- partner no matter how perverted the sex act – it’s not the sex act, it’s the HIV +/- status of the partner that matters). Gay porn follows the usual prescription of depending on condoms. Experience seems to show that the straight porn approach appears to work rather better and it certainly makes more sense, if you really know the partner is HIV-.
The problem is reliability of testing. That’s happened before in the Marc Wallice outbreak and resulted in the modern AIM system. From what performers here have said the modern AIM system is not susceptible to faking. The problem is getting people to stay within the verifiable-test system. This outbreak appears to have occurred because Darren James went to Brazil and shot with performers who weren’t working within an AIM-like system. New performers pose another risk in my opinion due to pressures within the “Fresh Meat” segment of the market.
Given the results of the gay porn approach (which appears consistent with NIH/CDC recommendations) as compared to the results of the straight porn approach I think that the goal should be to improve the straight porn approach and not throw it out and focus on sex acts.
I’m not sure what the other diseases on the standard AIM test form are.
im just saying it would be a good start. are there girls out there that are condom only? if there are are any of them on the quarantine lists? if there are have any of them tested positive?
