Whenever FW says "I thought you were a lawyer" it means it’s about to say something completely asinine and is quickly shown to be wrong by other posters.
1. When you are told to lick it or go to jail for several years, its not consent, its coercion. I find it hard to believe that even a first year law student would not know that.
2. The correct standard is custodial interrogation, not arrest. Even a first year law student would know that.
3. With the exception of the 6th amendment (right to counsel) constitutional rights don't change with the severity of the crime. Guess what; if they find a body in the trunk, it’s not a moving violation anymore. Which is why police are penalized for not following procedure on a simple stop. I guess they don't teach fruit of the poisonous tree at UCLA law.
4. UCLA Law is a top 15 law school that places most of its grads in corporate law firms like O'Melveny & Meyers. The chances of a UCLA Law Grad passing on a corp. law job for a consulting gig seems very unlikely to me.
