The states are not the same here. Louisiana is the one I'd be afraid of. They used to allow police officers to collect the fine for a speeding ticket on the spot, in cash... Think about that. I don't know if they still permit it, but they did into the 1970s...
If worst came to worst and no existing statute seemed to fit I'm sure the prosecutor would look to bribery and other official misconduct laws - something will fit, and assuming they want to fire him they'll drum up some charge to give them cover.
